We start at the train station of Oberdorf (493 m, Basel-Land) and walk up to the farm of Waldweid, which is located at 1015 m. From there, providing that the weather is on our side, we can enjoy a breath-taking view of the Swiss Alps. An hour later, a magnificent windmill is opening its two arms to encourage us to continue our walk in its direction. In 1986, this installation was the first windmill to be connected to the Swiss grid, and is testimony to the rapid progress of this fascinating technology. We will also enjoy the magnificent hilly landscape of Basel-Land and finish the tour in Langenbruck, where we'll see the remains of a former ski jumping competition site.
