Walensee, west side
Hiking along the northern shore of the Walensee from Weesen to Quinten (towards the West), we enjoy the peace and quiet of a shoreline that is closed to car and therefore only accessible on foot.
In the small peaceful harbor village of Weesen, the boats are covered and docked. After an hour's walk, the thin thread of road comes to an end. From here to the port of Quinten (433 m), the few inhabitants live without cars. On the way to the traditional village of Quinten, fig and persimmon trees adorn the fields, benefiting from a specific summer climate. In Quinten, a ferry takes us to Murg station located on the other side of the lake.
A one day walk, Canton of St-Gall
This hike can also be done over two days to head west (see here). Overnight stay in Quinten.
Walking time : 4,5 hours
