Villars sur Ollon is a well-known tourist resort in the canton of Vaud, famous as much for its ski resort as for the beauty of the surrounding countryside. A two-days hike in the canton of Vaud

DAY 1: "SALT MINING, PAST AND PRESENT". Descent from Villars (1274 m) to Le Bévieux (483 m). We will visit the sites most closely linked to this history, but without visiting the mines (visit to the mines on request only). We will return from Le Bévieux to Villars by train and spend the night at the Hotel Alpe Fleurie. 

4 h walk. 14 km. Mostly downhill. 

DAY 2: "TREES AS LANDSCAPE MARKERS". Long before churches and cathedrals, trees were the most imposing features of a landscape. Because of their dominant position, they were landmarks on maps and gave their names to specific loccations... We will go for a 'walking and talking adventure' through the 'Joue brûlée' forest.
