Join us on a captivating journey along the picturesque Birs Canal, tracing the historic waterway that once powered Basel’s early industries. Starting at Papiermühle, we’ll follow the path of the Birs, discovering its enduring charm through centuries of transformation. After crossing the bridge of the main road 273 at Hofmatt - here possibility of doing only half of the tour and take the tram line 10 at station Hofmatt - the hike takes us through forest trails and scenic landscapes, leading to the charming town of Muttenz.

Starting Point:        Papiermühle Museum (Meeting at 09:00)
Route:                       Papiermühle → Birs → Muttenz

Difficulty:                 Moderate (a good climb in the second half)
Duration:                 3.5 hours walking time (~10 km)
Drinks:                     Instant coffee and hot water will be available

Cost:                         CHF 40 per person (Max. 8 participants)
Payment:                 On-site (Cash or Twint)

Remark:                   Each participant is responsible for their own insurance & public transport costs if needed.
